DHL may collect your Personal Data:

- when you access DHL’s, its agents’ and/or business partners’ premises.
Where the Personal Data is indicated as being mandatory, DHL may in certain instances be faced with delays or be unable to provide you with the contracted services and/or products which you may require should you fail to provide DHL with the required Personal Data. When browsing DHL’s websites and/or applications, you may choose to configure your browser settings to disable all cookies or the like. Please be reminded that should you choose not to accept the cookies, certain functionalities (e.g. banner redirection) may not be available.
DHL collects, uses or discloses your Personal Data for its legitimate functions, including but not limited to:

Where you provide DHL with Personal Data relating to third parties, you confirm that you are authorized to or have obtained the prior consent of such third parties before providing DHL with the same.
DHL may disclose the Personal Data collected to other members of the Deutsche Post DHL group of companies and to DHL’s agents, suppliers and business partners, whether based in Singapore or abroad, who are involved in the fulfilment of your requests or the services and/or products contracted for.
DHL may also disclose the Personal Data collected to third parties (whether based in Singapore or abroad) who assist DHL with certain of its internal functions, including but not limited to invoicing and the mailing of account statements, credit reference checks, transportation services and information technology services. These third parties are bound to abide by applicable laws and/or DHL’s policies relating to the collection, use and disclosure of your Personal Data.
If DHL transfers your Personal Data to countries outside of Singapore, DHL will obtain your consent for the transfer to be made and DHL will take steps to ensure that your Personal Data continues to receive a standard of protection that is at least comparable to that provided under the PDPA.
DHL wishes to assure you that other than in the instances stated herein and for any other legitimate purposes, DHL will not share, sell, rent, trade and/or disclose your Personal Data to any unauthorised third party in contravention of applicable laws unless your consent has been duly obtained.
In Singapore, the PDPA grants you certain rights to seek access to and/or correct your Personal Data provided to DHL. This right may be exercised at any time, although it should be noted that access may not be granted under certain circumstances pursuant to the PDPA. DHL reserves the right to charge you a reasonable fee to process a data access request as permitted by the PDPA. DHL will respond to your request as soon as reasonably possible. Should DHL not be able to respond to your request within thirty (30) days after receiving your request, DHL will inform you in writing within thirty (30) days of the time by which DHL will be able to respond to your request. If DHL is unable to provide you with any Personal Data or to make a correction requested by you, DHL shall generally inform you of the reasons why DHL is unable to do so (except where DHL is not required to do so under the PDPA).
In addition, you may at any time withdraw any consent given or deemed to have been given under the PDPA in respect of the collection, use or disclosure of your Personal Data by DHL. Such right may be exercised by you at any time by submitting your request in writing or via email to DHL’s Data Protection Officer at the contact details provided below. Upon receipt of your written request to withdraw your consent, DHL may require reasonable time (depending on the complexity of the request and its impact on DHL’s relationship with you) for your request to be processed and for DHL to notify you of the consequences of DHL acceding to the same, including any legal consequences which may affect your rights and liabilities to DHL. In general, DHL shall seek to process your request within ten (10) business days of receiving it. Whilst DHL respects your decision to withdraw your consent, please note that depending on the nature and scope of your request, DHL may not be in a position to continue providing its products or services to you and DHL shall, in such circumstances, notify you before completing the processing of your request. Should you decide to cancel your withdrawal of consent, please inform DHL’s Data Protection Officer in writing or via email (see contact details provided below).
DHL may retain your Personal Data for as long as it is necessary to fulfil the purpose for which it was collected, or as required or permitted by applicable laws. DHL will cease to retain your Personal Data, or remove the means by which the Personal Data can be associated with you, as soon as it is reasonable to assume that such retention no longer serves the purpose for which the Personal Data was collected, and is no longer necessary for legal or business purposes.
Finally, please note that DHL has put in place appropriate measures to safeguard your Personal Data from unauthorised access, collection, use, disclosure, copying, modification, disposal or similar risks. You should be aware, however, that no method of transmission over the Internet or method of electronic storage is completely secure. Alert on Fraudulent Emails
As the leader in international shipping, the DHL brand is known around the world. DHL takes protecting our customers and their sensitive information seriously. Therefore, we strongly encourage you to be on the alert for fraudulent emails sent by malicious third parties falsely claiming the DHL brand and name. These unauthorised emails often bear images such as official-looking logos to mislead recipients.
False Payment Notice
In most cases, these emails solicit for payment to be made by online shoppers for the delivery of consumer goods purchased over the Internet.
Please be advised that DHL does not request direct payment from online consumers. DHL only collects money due for shipping arrangements made between a consigner and a consignee.
A receiver is still obligated to pay shipping, customs, VAT or similar charges, where these are properly payable at the time of delivery. DHL accepts no responsibility for any costs, charges or payments incurred as a result of fraudulent activity.
If you receive an email requesting you to open an email attachment in order to confirm a delivery by DHL, this email is fraudulent and the attachment may be a computer virus.
You should be wary of emails appearing to be from DHL, but requesting personal information such as username, passwords, bank account or credit card details. These phishing emails might include links that direct you to a spoofed website or online form where you are asked to enter personal information.
If a link appears suspicious, please do not click on it.
In general, DHL recommends not opening attachments or clicking on links in emails identified as being “from” DHL, if one or more of the following is the case:
- You are not doing business with DHL
- The email is asking for personal or confidential information
- The email contains suspicious-looking links or attachments
- You are instructed to open an attachment for more details, including the tracking number
- The email does not come with a valid tracking number
