Asia Pacific exports to Europe are faced with ongoing blank sailings and port omissions, followed by last minute vessel sliding. This leads to a reduction in overall capacity in the market and remain an industry-wide challenge.
With the Delta variant wave of Covid-19 subsiding, manufacturing production in Asia Pacific is rebounding. The regional recovery in manufacturing output is helping to gradually ease global supply-chain disruptions.
Following a record low of 33.5% in August, schedule reliability marginally improved to 34.0% and 34.4% in September and October respectively. Carriers are trying to fill gaps in the schedule by organizing extra sailings, but the situation is expected to remain well into 2022.
